FAITH

Is it possible for us to release all our fears and failures into the hands of God? Oh yes. Sometimes in our lives, we face uncertainties and the answers are elusive. Do we then depend on our own understanding and reasoning? No. This is when we demonstrate our faith for God’s ways may be difficult for us to understand as Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us. What then is faith?

Now faith is the assurance of the things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1

Faith comes by believing the word of God. Without faith, it is impossible to please the Lord. Living without faith has its consequences. In Deuteronomy 32:20, the Lord said, “I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end will be, for they are a perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness” and Habakkuk 2;4 says “Behold, he whose soul is not upright in him shall fail, but the righteous shall live by his faith”.

We only need faith as little as a mustard seed. The apostle Paul admonished us in the book of Ephesians 6:16 to take the shield of faith to quench the flaming dart of the evil one. This is a divine assurance that faith will equip us to escape the snares of the devil. With faith, we can grow spiritually, and miracles happen. It enables God to work in and through us.

Faith is the assurance that God’s promises never fails even when we do not see the fulfilment in our lives. Faith in God makes it easier for us to release the control of our lives to Him (Proverbs 3:5-6).
