Spiritual battles require the appropriate spiritual armor. A soldier who is prepared for war must go with the right armor.

Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.                                                  Ephesians 6:11

St Paul tells us in the book of Ephesians 6:13 to take the whole armour of God, that we may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all, to stand. Choosing to live a Godly life exposes us to spiritual warfare but we will win if we continue to follow Christ. We should wear: the belt of truth – beware of false teaching and speak the truth for our sanctification;

breastplate of righteousness – walking in obedience to God’s law;

gospel of peace – we should evangelize, but not being unaware of the traps of the enemy;

shield of faith – Satan sows doubt about God’s faithfulness to render God’s word ineffective, but we should believe without doubt;

helmet of salvation – this is the word of God which will help us discern between spiritual truth and spiritual deception.

Physical weapons cannot be used to fight Satan, but following the instructions of St Paul in the book of Ephesians, we will have victory regardless of the enemy’s strategy.
